Barrier free access to premises
Access to premises, such as your computer training room or meeting rooms means much more than just a ramp at the front door.
It can include:
- Lighting levels
- Hearing augmentation
- Circulation space for wheelchairs
- Handrails on stairs
- Height of desks
- Design of chairs
- Switches where they can be reached
- Toilet facilities
- Barrier free pathways
- Transport and parking
Here is a checklist you can use for an access audit to see if your club training and meeting rooms are appropriate for members and potential members with a disability.
